What experience level is required to take pottery classes and courses at Savor Ceramics?No experience is necessary! Our pottery classes and courses at Savor Ceramics are designed for everyone—whether you've never touched clay, have been at it for years, or are looking to pick it back up, we'd love to have you join us! Wherever you are in your ceramics journey, we’ll guide you through the step that is best for you! One thing remains true at this studio: our commitment to providing a nurturing and supportive environment for all skill levels.

What kinds of pottery classes do you offer?At Savor Ceramics, we offer a variety of pottery classes in Fort Worth for all skill levels. 6-Week Courses Beginner and Intermediate Wheel Throwing Clay Foundations One-Night Classes Friday Night Wheel Throwing Saturday Night Hand-Building Projects Private Pottery Parties Our one-night classes and 6-week courses can be booked online.

Do you have any kids classes?While we don't currently offer classes for kids, all of our Fort Worth pottery classes and courses are open to students ages 14 and up.

Do you offer private pottery parties?Yes! We host private parties in our spacious 2400 sq. ft. ceramics studio in Fort Worth for birthdays, bachelorette parties, team-building events, or just for fun. Learn more about booking private events.

What should I wear to my pottery class or course?We recommend wearing comfortable clothes and shoes that you don’t mind getting messy — clay washes out easily! An apron or towel is optional but very helpful when working on the wheel!

Is pottery a good date night idea in Fort Worth?Yes! Our Friday and Saturday one-night pottery classes make for a fun and creative date night in Fort Worth — no experience needed!

Are all supplies included in one-night classes?Yes — all clay, tools, glazes, and firing costs are included in your pottery class registration.

How long will it take for my piece to be ready?Your finished piece will be ready for pickup in about 2–3 weeks. At the end of class you’ll choose from a variety of glazes to personalize your creation, we'll fire and glaze it, and then we'll let you know when it's ready!

What is included in the cost of registering for a ceramics course at Savor Ceramics?When you register for a 6-week ceramics course at Savor Ceramics, the cost includes access to all studio equipment, studio tools, and your first bag of clay. Additionally, the course fee covers the glazing and firing of your creations. This comprehensive package ensures you have everything you need to get started and make the most of your ceramics experience. If you find that you want more clay during your course, you can purchase additional bags of white stoneware for $40 each.

What’s the difference between the Wheel Throwing course and the Clay Foundations course?Our Wheel Throwing course focuses entirely on the pottery wheel, teaching you how to throw and refine forms. Clay Foundations course is more exploratory, introducing you to both hand building pottery techniques and wheel throwing basics, so you can explore and see what you enjoy most. Both courses are 6-weeks in length.

What benefits do students receive when enrolling in a 6-week course at Savor Ceramics?Students enrolled in a 6-week course at Savor Ceramics gain exclusive benefits including open studio access. This means you can practice your ceramic skills at your own pace, as long as the studio is open and no other classes are in session. This offers an excellent opportunity to refine techniques, work on personal projects, and maximize the learning experience outside of structured class hours.

What do I need to bring?An open mind and a creative attitude are most important! Other than that, we recommend a towel or an apron if you'll be on the wheel. You may eventually choose to buy your own tool kit or an apron, but you are welcome to use the studio tools while you see what you think.

What equipment do you have and type of firing do you do at Savor Ceramics?We have a beautiful 2400 sq. ft. ceramics studio that consists of: nine Shimpo wheels (eight with adjustable stools and one standing) 7.5", 12", and 14" Speedball bats a full wall of tools (throwing, hand-building, sgraffito, trimming, glazing, and more) a full size (six foot) slab roller with canvas two hand building tables with chairs more than 12 glazes and an assortment of underglazes two giffin grips We fire to cone 5-6 in an electric kiln.

When do members have access to the studio?Members have access to the studio during studio hours. If there is a class in session (including after hours) members may stay and work, but please note that students have priority on equipment. View our hours.

Does membership require a commitment at Savor Ceramics?No, membership at Savor Ceramics does not require a long-term commitment. Our memberships are designed to be flexible, operating on a month-to-month basis, allowing you to cancel at any time without any penalties. Additionally, we offer punch cards that can be used at your discretion, providing even more flexibility to use our services as it fits into your schedule. This makes it easy to enjoy the creative and community-oriented benefits of Savor Ceramics without being tied down to a strict contract.
